Default My New Project
I haven't been on here much because i moved my elderly father in to help care for him in what might be his last year or two. Growing up he didn't like me because i had no direction in life and some other things but now he is proud of my progress and wants to spend time with me to try to make up for some lost time. When he divorced my mother I was 18, he gave me the family 1966 chevy pickup truck with a broken down 327 and a rebuilt 350 with a turbo 400 trans in the garage. I drove the crap out of that truck and I have wanted another for a very long time. I recently found one with a 327 and a turbo 350 trans. it needs a lot of love but it does run so I was able to drive her home. I look forward wrenching with my father....we have already checked the compression together and poked around in the engine compartment a little. I see front disc brakes, power steering, rust repair, black primer, and maybe a different trans in the near future.

Here she is......

Saweet!!!! I love all pick-ups from the 60's and have always wanted to tinker around with one. One of these days I'll get around to it. I'm glad you were able to find one, that you could spend quality time with your dad. My parents divorced when I was six, military abusive drunk, so no happy memmories with my dad. The time you spend with your dad will be appreciated. Keep us posted. Good luck and enjoy bro!

Good looking Apache truck there! One of my favorite styles. Have fun wrenching on that baby!
