I was told about a tire size comparison calculator (Thanks Jimmy) and the size that I was sold 2 years ago turns out to be just a tad over the reccomended max size and I haven't had any trouble so far...*shrug*
Below is a side by side comparison from the stock 215/65/17 and 245/45/20 as well as the overall diameter of the 40 series.
