Centric Posi Quiets

FINALLY I swapped out my Brembo's, which had at least half of their life left, for the Centric Posi Quiets I've had for a year or so. So far I haven't felt much difference in stopping power but I haven't done any more then around town driving since. The lack of brake dust looks promising.
I do have a question though, on the original brake pads there was a thin metal plate on the back of the rear pads that the new pads didn't have. While were doing this, the dealerships head mechanic showed up so we asked him about the plates. He said they were a type of noise reducer and recommended putting them on the new pads. Can anyone confirm this??

Thanks!

congrats, been running posi's for 2 years now and have loved the difference in brake dust reduction. it doesn't get rid of it, but it is far less. i did notice slightly stopping power, but nothing to noticeable.
your mechanic is correct, at least that's what i was told as well. i didn't use mine and no issues.

Thanks Jimmy! Good to know he wasn't just pulling that out of his a$$. I followed the bedding procedure this morning and may do it again in a couple of weeks. I heard if you don't change the rotors a second bedding will help shape the pads to the rotors. We'll see if I feel a difference.

8 months later and still liking the Centric's. I think stopping power is a bit diminished over the stock pads but not enough to be an issue. It still stops better then either of my other two vehicles.

I just ordered up some slotted rotors & posi-quiet pads from R1concepts the other day. I'll do anything to shake this brake squeal I've got now.
