My Fall / Winter build
My SuperBee is going to HRS this Oct to be stripped down. We are startting by removing the body from the frame 1 for easier access to the drivetrain and 2 to add some support to stiffen it up. Full subframe connectors are being welded in as well. I have a (seasoned) 6.1 block being turned into a 426 stroker with one off heads and cam being machined just for this build. The tranny is being given some love and a 2800 stall, the rear is a Taylor Racing 373 LSD gear drive, with new drive and half shafts / hubs ect. Adding drive shaft and half shaft loops will be installed. A five gallon fuel cell with be installed in the trunk opposite my DEI cryogenic intercooler / fuel rail set up. The Techo will get rebuilt and fitted with a 10lb pully. API will be diong alot of the motor build and Karl will be tuning the car. Crager steel wheels and Nitto drag radials will be the gummi bears at the track. There will be some powder coating under the hood and a few parts anodized to add some pop, the exhaust tips are being powder coated flat black. A new wings west roofline spoiler will replace the current one, and neffywrap will adorn the interior. All in all it should be alot of fun I will post pics as the build gets underway and build sheet and dyno #'s as well.

AGAIN>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! congrats bro! sounds like a lot of sleepless nights. lol keep us posted.

The build has begun, as few changes... I an not going to neffy the whole inside just some of it. Taylor Racing has not responded adfter our initial contact, so I think I will be using Arrington for the tranny back drivetrain.

Sean, that's awesome still. Lol. Keep posted.

We stalled the build for a bit to get some new people on board and it has changed some things all for the better. As in my other post the wheels I thought would work will require a spacer and I'm not running with spacers. Also Taylor Racing did not return our calls so we are moving on, I looked into the PPP 373 with driveshaft setup, but that has evolved into one of the people on the build deciding to build me one themselves given the fact that my engine has also been changed due to a really nice set of pistons becomming avialable so the 426 stroker is out. I can not give the specs on the motor till the builders of the rotating ass, and heads gives the OK I know sounds off but I will post the tech specs and sheets as soon as I can. Man builds are always so fluid I should prolly just shut up till it's done but it's just to exciting, ok some pics, Oh we're dropping the rear and the engine / tranny on monday I'll update pics then.

Thnx Brother ! I'll give you a call on Monday and give you the details, the numbers are huge at least I think so projected based off a car that has been around out in UT and my build just takes the per further. Again I'll post the dyno sheet fro tuning to give on paper numbers but the projected figures are 975 / 1000 + with the car easily in the VERY low 10's and in the 9's IF it will hook up. Here are some more pic's we also dropped the rear but I left the camera at work >.<. Ouch my front facia takes a beating cant do much about that the suspention is dialed in perfect for road racing at MMS. There are some pieces being made for the Bee a spliter canards side spoilers for road racing. it's just too much fun to decide where it will have it's fun...

I figured I'd drop an update on my build, we are starting the assembly of the car the week of the 11th and hope to have it completed and a shakedown done in a three week time period. Here is the mod list as it stands now. I corrected some errors on the list. I'm working on some airbrushed half covers and having the side graphix re done in Di noc. I'll keep the post updated as it goes.

Hey Sean, what kind of gauge pod do you have ? I remember seeing one on your dash ? And I really liked it ! Can you tell me where you got it ?
|
Np, I ordered it from GlowShift.com
|
Thanks Man, im torn between that style and the pillar pod. what gauges you running ? ive got the 3.5 and i just ordered Volt gauge and oil temp, if i get a 3 pillar pod im gonna snag an oil pressure gauge aswell. and your bee is f'ing sick brotha !
|
Sean, killer!!!!! Hit me up sometime bro. Later!
|
Thnx guys:) I'll give you a call this weekend Jimmy.
Well we ran the numbers and it turns out to equate to 426.7 sigh... I was led to believe that my motor was going to be a 440 but I understand why the 426 after I saw a small block 440 thats alot of material gone to achieve that. We have begun to put the bee back together and I painted my block and here is a pic. http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/r...f/100_0447.jpg http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/r...f/100_0448.jpg |
The Bee is all but finnished, I'm waiting on the machine shop to finnish my 10lb pulley then we'll update the cal file. I am breaking it in on the old tune for the stock 6.1 with the techo for the first 500 miles and even at that it's an absolute animal it is staggering the low end tq and to think this is the least ammount of power the car can generate and it will break em loose with no effort at all at 75mph, 35% throttle and 4500rpm making 3lbs of the six lbs of boost after some minor fishtail action it blasted to well over 115 before I could even blink in a staggering short distance. lol I think my late 85 stage3 GN would be in real trouble against this 4 door whale .
|
WOW!!! I can't wait for the pix....
